To successfully upgrade your 1st generation 0B5 TCM to the 2nd generation hardware, we need to transfer your vehicle's Immobilizer data and calibration. Because the hardware architecture differs between the two generations, you cannot simply write the Gen 1 file onto a Gen 2 module without modifying it first.

We can handle this software conversion remotely. Please follow these steps:

1. Read the Original Module
Using your Flex or PCM Flasher, connect to your original 1st generation TCM and perform a Full Backup. Make sure the read includes both the Micro/Flash and the EEPROM data.

2. Send the Backup
Email the full backup file directly to me.

3. File Conversion
Once I receive your file, I will manually convert the data structure. I will transfer your original Immo data, VIN, and component protection blocks, and patch them to be fully compatible with the 2nd generation TCM architecture.

4. Write to the New Module
I will send the converted file back to you. You will then use your tool to write this prepared file onto the new 2nd generation TCM. Once the write is complete, the new unit will be plug-and-play in your vehicle with no Component Protection active.
